In The Community

As the first Veterinary Hospital in San Antonio, we have spent a long time getting to our community. We love getting out of the clinic and spending time with our fellow San Antonians!

King William Fair

This year we were fortunate to host a Pet First Aid booth at King William Fair! Years of experience in Texas weather has taught us that warm temperatures, pet costumes and lots of excitement can be recipe for heat exhaustion. We came prepared with plenty of fresh cool water and all the medical supplies needed to measure a dog’s temperature and help them to lower it when necessary.

We were surprised to find that in just one afternoon we saw 8 dogs for heat exhaustion! We were so grateful that their parents recognized the signs and took them to our booth for help. We are happy to report that all the pets we saw made quick and thorough recoveries! Thank you to the King William District for hosting this wonderful festival, you can learn more about next year’s event at We hope to see you there.

San Antonio Urban Pet Market

Another fun community outreach program we love is San Antonio’s Urban Pet Market! Located in Travis Park, this market is a true downtown treasure. Chalked full of pet friendly activities from dog agility, to pet physics, to adoptions you are sure to have a good time! We attend to shake paws with our downtown dwellers and give away fun freebies. This event is also free and very family friendly!

Soler’s Sports

Exercising with your pet is great for both of you and helps build a stronger bond. One of our favorite local businesses, Soler’s Sports hosts pet friendly runs and will  help you find your way as a runner. They have phenomenal running teams and supports groups! Sunday morning runs will start at 7:00 AM at Soler’s Sports Alamo Heights location (5933 Broadway St, San Antonio, TX 78209). The course is designed for beginners and offers varying lengths to suit everyone’s fitness level.  As always, our events are free to attend and participate in.
